BREAKING: Cardinals LHP Jaime García is replaced on the roster by RHP Shelby Miller

The Cardinals have decided to replace LHP Jaime García, who threw two innings but had the no-decision in yesterday’s 12-4 win, is being replaced on the roster by RHP Shelby Miller.

MLB.com on postseason roster rules allowing Miller to play:

MLB Postseason rules provide that a Club may request permission from the Commissioner’s Office to replace a player who is unable to play because of an injury. The Commissioner’s Office may approve or disapprove the request based on the specific facts and circumstances. In accordance with the rules, García will be ineligible to return in the National League Championship Series, but would be eligible to return for the World Series if the Cardinals advance.

Cardinals have clinched the 2nd NL Wild Card.

I am really happy to see my beloved Redbirds win the 2nd NL Wild Card spot this year. Though the Cardinals lost 3-1 to the Redlegs last night, they got in via a 4-3 Dodgers loss to the Giants. Fear the Rally Squirrel!!!!

Cardinals 2012.

We want our 12th World Series Championship.

Can the Cardinals hold on to the Wild Card?

I sure hope to see a #12in12 season. Let’s get that Rally Squirrel out there!

Remembering Jack Buck 10 Years Later

10 years ago today, famous St. Louis Cardinals announcer for KMOX Jack Buck died due to a combination of illnesses.

We will remember JFB for his highlights, including the call of Kirk Gibson’s game-winning pinch hit home run in Game 1 of 1988 World Series.

This highlight features both Jack and his son Joe Buck with two different calls.

Jack Buck’s post-9/11 speech:

RIP Jack Buck 10 years later.

Coming up later this week: Remembering Darryl Kile 10 Years Later.
